About us: working for DFJ Solicitors
Experienced Solicitor – Cirencester
We have an opening for an experienced non-contentious Solicitor, to take over at least part of the work of a former partner (now a Consultant).
The post is at our Cirencester office, which has a local reputation for strength in the Property and Private Client areas of work. You would be part of a team of three other qualified Property lawyers and two Solicitors dealing with Private Client work.
You would be dealing primarily with Property, but ideally would be able to offer help and advice in all areas, and to assist with the development and management of the non-contentious department.
You would need a sound technical knowledge and experience of all types of property (freehold and leasehold, residential and commercial, and registered and unregistered). Much of the work will be for long-standing and/or HNW clients, and will include dealing with clients with commercial investment properties; property related tax-planning (capital gains tax and inheritance tax); advising trustees of property-owning trusts; advising farmers on tax and farm partnership matters; possibly some high-value residential conveyancing; dealing with development land, and the more complex property transactions.
You will need to be flexible as to the type of non-contentious work you take on, and able to provide a high standard of service to sometimes demanding clients.
General experience of other non-contentious areas (IHT, small family trusts, companies, partnership, charities, etc) would be useful, as would strong marketing abilities, and a willingness to live locally and to become involved in the local community.
The post could suit someone with experience at or near partnership level in a High Street environment. Some following would be an advantage, but is not essential.
